A blog about some Metal Detecting Trips and Finds in New Zealand.
We go Water Detecting mainly but also do some old spots depending on our research.
Have to try and keep track of all the 'hunts' :)

Not a bad coin haul for a few hours....you gotta love metal detecting :)
What metal detector are you using and where are you located? I have a fisher f2 and live in Whangarei, not finding nearly as much as you :( Maybe its a population thing?
Hi....For the last week I've been using a Garrett ATPro...prior to that ACE250....I'm in the Auckland area....The History where you are is not bad,so you should be able to find some old stuff....from what I've read and heard the Fisher machines are good coin shooters....I guess the amount of people does make a difference(In saying that our oldest coin and some gold jewellery came from a smaller town)
Just had a beter day today, $33.30 of useable money. A 1934 Shilling, a 1946 Penny and heaps of smiles :) We have 2 old parks which I spent most of the time at today, and a school playground :)
My name is Kevin and i am here to fight some fire with the local fire crews in the area, i am looking for areas near whangaeri to go metal detecting with just a chane of finding something i brought a garrett at gold metal detector with me just need to learn where to go its much different from alaska here.

You'll have that AT Pro paid off in no time.. I had a four Knuckle bone weekend...might have to start keeping them in another bucket!
