A blog about some Metal Detecting Trips and Finds in New Zealand.
We go Water Detecting mainly but also do some old spots depending on our research.
Have to try and keep track of all the 'hunts' :)

Don't think I'll find one of these again soon....Cool
A 1954 Silver Ben Franklin Half Dollar.....all the way over here in little ole NZ :) Silver Content: 90% Silver Weight: .3617 oz.
Just a quesion about asking questions about location, Just about etiquette - So if location is public and you found it to be vergin or of any interest yo you,you digging it and planning to come back- then yes maxim info can be given PARK, Beach, OLD house// etc.
But if it is the case like SCHOOL - were permittion is for individual - like i have for Parnell school . its ok to tell- so other would not bother Principal with permittion requirest.
I take your point Max.....If it was only invited members reading these blogs I would not mind posting details about exact locations etc...But being open to all there might be less 'scrupulous' detectorists/people out there that will take 'permission granted' at a certain location as a free for all to go and detect/explore,and they might not care about filling holes/respecting property...Just my opinion
Totally agree Treasure Seeker. For example I have 22 followers to my blog of which 3 are anonymous. Is that due to shyness or do they have other motives?
Your really lucky to get that Ben Franklin - you should put it on one of the American forums and see what sort of reaction you get. lol. MK
Congrats! I can't believe you found a Franklin half in NZ. I have hunted in the US for years and have never found one. I probably need to find more productive ground to hunt.
Wow, great find...........where did you dig that? Generally I mean not the exact location. LOL
ReplyDeleteGenerally I would have to say....a School...LOL.....You are still doing really well at your Field I see, some awesome finds. HH:)
